Casa Mia Community – Custom Architectural Metalwork by Iron Age
Casa Mia is one of Vancouver’s notable residential developments where classic heritage architecture meets modern design. In collaboration with CE Miles Construction Ltd., Iron Age Manufacturing designed, fabricated, and installed a full package of custom metalwork elements that enhanced both the safety and visual character of the property.
A major component of this project involved creating tailored glass and wrought-iron railing systems that offer durability without compromising the elegant aesthetic of the community. The glass railings—installed throughout the courtyard and balcony areas—were engineered to maintain open views and maximize natural light while meeting all safety and building code requirements. Their clean, minimal presence allows the architecture to stand out while providing long-term performance in Vancouver’s climate.
At the heritage entrance, our team crafted custom handrails that respect the historical character of the original structure while delivering modern strength and functionality. The patio enclosure and wrought-iron features were carefully designed to blend with the building’s traditional elements, creating a unified look across new and existing spaces.
Balcony areas were another key focus of the project. Iron Age supplied and installed complete railing packages, combining precision-fabricated components with installation techniques that ensure longevity, structural integrity, and a seamless fit with the façade. Each component was fabricated in our Burnaby facility and customized to align with the architectural vision of the development.
